Privacy Policy

Your data, your device, your control.

This Privacy Policy explains how Aisha Malik ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with our mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Because our apps do not all work the same way, app-specific notices below describe the actual privacy practices of each app. Where an app-specific notice differs from the general sections of this policy, the app-specific notice controls for that app.

Effective Date: April 2, 2026 | Last Updated: August 16, 2026

App-Specific Privacy Notice: Marigold

Last updated: August 16, 2026

Marigold is built around a simple promise: your words, your voice, and your photos are yours. Marigold never uploads your memories. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it.

What Marigold collects

Nothing. Marigold has no account and no sign-in. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. We do not receive or have access to your game results, memories, recordings, transcripts, or photos. Marigold contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.

Where your memories are stored

Everything you create in Marigold is stored in the app's private storage on your own device and protected by your device's built-in security. Marigold does not upload your memories to a Marigold server or cloud account.

Voice recordings and speech-to-text

If you choose to record a memory, the recording is stored on your device. Marigold can turn your recording into written text using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Marigold requires on-device recognition and does not send your voice to us or to a Marigold server for transcription. You may also choose to write instead, including by using your keyboard's dictation features.

Photos

If you choose to add a photo to a memory, Marigold receives only the photo you select and copies it into the app's private storage. Marigold does not browse or upload your photo library.

Sharing and exporting

Nothing leaves Marigold unless you choose to share or export it. Marigold lets you share written memories, voice recordings, chapters, PDF keepsakes, and backup files. When you do this, iOS passes the content you selected to the destination you chose, such as Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Files, iCloud Drive, or a printer. Once you send or save something outside Marigold, that destination's own privacy practices apply.

Face ID and device security

If you enable Marigold's lock, authentication is handled by iOS using Face ID or your device's authentication system. Marigold does not receive, store, or have access to your biometric information. It only receives the result of whether authentication succeeded.

Purchases

Marigold offers an optional auto-renewing Marigold Membership and optional one-time tips. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment-card details.

Backups, deletion, and device loss

Marigold does not maintain a cloud account or a separate copy of your memories. If you permanently delete a memory inside Marigold, its words, recording, and attached photo are removed from Marigold's storage on your device. Deleting the app removes information stored locally by Marigold. Because there is no Marigold cloud account, we cannot recover memories from a lost or damaged device for you. Marigold therefore includes a free backup feature so you can save a backup file somewhere you trust. Your iPhone's own device backup may also protect app data according to your Apple backup settings.

Children

Marigold is a general-audience app and does not collect personal information from its users.

Changes to Marigold

If a future version changes how Marigold handles information, for example by adding cloud services, analytics, or another feature that involves data leaving the device, this policy and Marigold's App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that version is released.

General Privacy Terms

The sections below describe practices that may apply to other Services when the relevant feature is present. They do not override an app-specific notice above. In particular, the Marigold notice above controls for Marigold.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Depending on the application and features you use, we may collect:

  • Account information: If you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, display name, and profile preferences.
  • User-generated content: Content you create within our apps, such as text entries, photos, images, preferences, financial data, relationship preferences, style selections, or other input you provide.
  • Communications: If you contact us directly, we may retain the content of your messages along with your contact details.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

We may automatically collect certain information when you use our Services:

  • Usage data: Internal usage counts (such as feature usage frequency) may be tracked locally on your device to manage free-tier limits or improve your experience. This data does not leave your device unless explicitly stated.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version may be collected for compatibility and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Analytics data: Some of our apps may use analytics services to help us understand usage patterns and improve our Services. Where analytics are used, data is collected in aggregate and is not used to personally identify you.

1.3 Information from Device Permissions

With your explicit consent, certain apps may request access to:

  • Camera: To capture photos for use within the app (e.g., cataloguing items, creating visual content).
  • Photo library: To import or save images relevant to app functionality.
  • Location: To provide location-relevant features or content. Location data is processed only as needed and is not continuously tracked.
  • Contacts: To enable social or sharing features within certain apps. Contact data is accessed only with your permission and is not uploaded to our servers unless required for a specific feature you initiate.
  • Microphone: Where applicable, to enable voice input or audio-related features.

You may revoke any of these permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking permissions may limit certain app features.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Services.
  • Process your transactions and manage your subscriptions.
  • Personalise your experience within our apps.
  • Respond to your enquiries and provide support.
  • Analyse usage trends to improve app functionality (in aggregate only).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
  • Deliver relevant advertisements where applicable (see Section 5).

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 On-Device Storage

Many of our apps store your data primarily on your device using local storage technologies (such as SwiftData, Core Data, or UserDefaults). Data stored locally does not leave your device unless a feature explicitly requires transmission to a server (e.g., AI-powered analysis or cloud sync).

3.2 Cloud Storage

Certain apps may use Apple's CloudKit or other cloud services to enable features such as data synchronisation across devices, shared content, or collaborative features like voting. When cloud services are used, your data is stored in accordance with the cloud provider's security and privacy standards.

3.3 Security Measures

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

Some of our apps integrate with third-party services to provide enhanced functionality. These services may receive limited data as necessary to perform their function:

  • AI and language model providers: Certain apps send user-provided content (such as schedule data or text prompts) to AI services via OpenRouter or similar API providers for processing. This data is sent only when you actively use an AI-powered feature. We select providers with appropriate data handling practices, but we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
  • Apple services: We use Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases and subscriptions, and may use Apple's CloudKit for cloud-based features. Apple processes this data under its own privacy policy.
  • Analytics providers: We may use third-party analytics tools in some apps. Where used, these tools collect anonymised or aggregated data to help us understand how our apps are used.
  • Advertising partners: Some of our free apps may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks. These networks may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. See Section 5 for more details.

5. Advertising

Some of our free applications may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks. These networks may use technologies such as device identifiers (e.g., IDFA) and cookies to serve ads that may be relevant to you.

You can limit ad tracking by adjusting your device privacy settings (on iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking). Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before enabling personalised advertising.

6. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Certain apps offer premium features through in-app purchases or subscriptions processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not directly collect or store your payment information — all payment processing is handled by Apple in accordance with their terms and privacy policy. We receive only confirmation of your purchase status to unlock the relevant features.

7. Children's Privacy

We take children's privacy seriously. Certain apps may be designed for or accessible to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).

For apps directed at children:

  • We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and other applicable child privacy regulations.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent where required by law.
  • We do not serve personalised or behavioural advertising to children.
  • We limit data collection to what is reasonably necessary for the app's functionality.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately using the details below, and we will take steps to remove that information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Data portability: Request a copy of your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
  • Object to processing: Object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days (or as required by applicable law).

8.1 For Users in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area

If you are located in the UK or EEA, we process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our lawful bases for processing include: your consent, performance of a contract (providing Services you have requested), and our legitimate interests in improving and securing our Services.

8.2 For Users in Canada

If you are located in Canada, we process your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial legislation.

8.3 For Users in California

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9. Data Retention

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide our Services and fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. For data stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting content within the app or by uninstalling the app. For cloud-stored data, you may request deletion by contacting us.

10. International Data Transfers

Our Services may involve the transfer of data to servers or service providers located outside your country of residence, including but not limited to the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Where such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through our apps or by other means. Your continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
